Services

The W.Va. Health Improvement Institute and its divisions can provide a wide range of services to help the state's health care community meet changing requirements, adopt beneficial technologies and improve health care outcomes. The Institute has an experienced and dependable professional staff who provide independent, vendor-neutral and innovative solutions. Services are provided by the institute or through one of its two affiliated divisions: the W.Va. Regional HIT Extension Center (WVRHITEC) and W.Va. HIT Solutions LLC (WVHIT).

  • The WVRHITEC is focused on working with interested providers who have yet to start the Stage One Meaningful Use process or who are progressing from Stage One to Stage 2. The WVRHITEC also will be working with the WVHII to help providers utilize patient-centered medical home and population health delivery models, prepare for new coding and patient engagement expectations and navigate the changes in payment and network processes related to health insurance exchanges and new patient coverage options.
  • WVHIT Solutions is working with the health care industry on health information technology needs and providing ongoing solutions related to meaningful use Stages 2, 3...as well as EHR vendor evaluation, practice management/workflow redesign, privacy & security/HIPAA, health information exchange, patient portal functionality, etc.

Whatever the need or challenges, WVHII has knowledgable, dependable and experienced staff members who can provide independent recommendations and vendor-neutral solutions.

Overall, the Institute aims to improve the health status of all West Virginians by focusing on improved access, prevention, promotion of wellness and healthy lifestyle choices, appropriate utilization, and optimal evidence-based chronic illness management.
